Dr. T.V. Manickam (Late), fondly known as Kaviraj (King of Poets), was a renowned Tamil scholar, deeply devoted to Tamil literature, especially the Thirukkural. His ability to recite and explain all 1,300 couplets earned him the honorary title Kaviraj.

Beyond literature, he was a visionary Siddha and Ayurveda practitioner who served as the President of the Traditional Siddhar Vaidhyar Sangam for over 25 years. His lifelong dream was to unlock the mysteries of nature and advance India’s own medical heritage.

In 1964, he began this journey by honoring his gurus—Siddhars and Swami Gnananandhar—through the establishment of the Sri Valambigai Temple with 18 Siddhar statues and a meditation hall in Erode. Alongside his spiritual contributions, he carried out pioneering research in Muppoo, Rasavatham, Siddha and Ayurveda medicine formulations, developing remedies that would later become the foundation of Kaviraj’s healthcare legacy.

His vision was carried forward by his son, Mr. M. Raja (B.Sc., B.Pharm., M.Sc. Yoga), who modernized these traditional formulations by integrating them with scientific validation and GMP standards. His daughter-in-law, Dr. Bhuvaneswari Raja (B.S.M.S., M.Sc. Yoga), enriched the process with her 25+ years of clinical expertise. The next generation, Dr. B.R. Harsaa Vardhan (M.D. Internal Medicine) and Dr. V. Kavitha (M.S. Obstetrics & Gynaecology), continue to advance his vision by combining modern medical knowledge with traditional healing practices.

What began as a dream has now grown into Kaviraj Pharmaceuticals and its allied ventures, carrying forward Dr. T.V. Manickam’s mission:
